1. Eradicate Extreme Poverty and Hunger
This goal is to decrease the portion of people who earn less than $1.25 and people who suffer from hunger by one half (from 1990 to 2015). Another aspect of this goal is to create decent, full and productive employment for everyone. As of 2011 approximately 34.1% of people live under the poverty line. The unemployment rate is 10.3% in 2012. The majority of the labor force works in services, 68%, 13% work in industry and 18% work in agriculture. On a scale from 1-100, Colombia has a 40% chance of succeeding because even after billions of dollars of U.S aid the country fails to reduce poverty.

2. Achieve Universal Primary Education
This goal is to ensure that both boys and girls will be able to complete primary school by 2015. In 2005, Colombia had a literacy rate of 90.1% for both geners. School life expectancy for females was 14 years and for males was 13 years in 2009. The only problem is the affordability of higher education which could cost more than $6,000. On a scale from 1-100, Colombia has a 90% chance of succeeding because their statistic show that the education system is strong and children receive at least an elementary education.

3. Promote Gender Equality and Empower Women
This goal plans to eliminate inequality for all educational levels in 2015. Ender inequality does in Colombia does not pertain to education. Other inequalities such as abortion being 99% illegal, on average every 4 days a women is murdered by their spouse and women work 10 more hours a week than men, but get paid 20% less. On a scale from 1-100, Colombia has a 40% chance of succeeding because the government is working towards fixing the problem, but the church could interfere with some of the reforms.

4. Reduce Child Mortality and 5. Improve Maternal Health
These goals are straight forward. For improving maternal health, the goal is to reduce maternal mortality ratio by one third. Another goal is for everyone to have access to universal reproductive health. In 2010 Colombia's maternal mortality rate was 92 deaths/ 100,000 live births. In 2012 the infant mortality rate 15.92 deaths per 1,000 live births. On a scale from 1-100, Colombia has a 70% chance of succeeding because both of the statistics are low and should not be difficult to improve.

6. Combat HIV/AIDS, Malaria and Other Diseases
This goal aims to reverse the spread and halt HIV and other major diseases by 2015. In Colombia approximately 160,000 people live with HIV/AIDs and the prevalence rate is 0.5% (2009). Also in 2009, 14,000 people died from HIV/AIDs. Their is a high risk of contracting a major infectious disease such as Malaria, yellow fever, leptospirosis, etc. On a scale from 1-100, Colombia has a 50% chance of succeeding because it could be difficult to lower the risk of major infectious diseases, but the country does have a strong control over the HIV/AIDs epidemic.

7. Ensure Environmental Sustainability
This goal is detailed. Some of the goals consist of integrating environmental sustainability in policies and programs; reverse the loss of environmental resources; increase the amount of people who have safe water and sanitation; and significantly improve the lives of 100 million slum- dwellers. In Colombia, 92% of the population has improved drinking water and 90% of the population has improved sanitation facility access. On a scale from 1-100, Colombia has a 70% chance of succeeding because Colombia is currently working towards environmental sustainability and has been doing well.

8.Global Partnerships for Development
This goal is also very detailed. Part of the goal is to address special needs of developing companies; work with pharmaceutical companies to give everyone access to affordable drugs ;open up trading; etc. Colombia does have a a relationship with the United Nations and America. On a scale from 1-100, Colombia has a 70% chance of succeeding because have already maintained strong relationships and could use that as a model for a new relationship.
